Vision Therapy in Toronto
Fellowship-trained optometrist helping children and adults see better, learn easier, and recover faster
Vision therapy is more than eye exercises—it's a personalized program that retrains the connection between your eyes and brain. Led by Dr. Melissa Yeung, one of few FOVDR-certified optometrists in Ontario, our clinic helps patients overcome learning difficulties, recover from concussions, and achieve their visual potential.
What is Vision Therapy?
Vision therapy is a doctor-supervised program that improves how your eyes and brain work together. While glasses correct what you see, vision therapy trains how you see—improving eye coordination, focusing, tracking, and visual processing.
Using therapeutic lenses, prisms, filters, and guided activities, we strengthen neural pathways to make vision more comfortable, efficient, and automatic. Most programs involve weekly in-office sessions plus home exercises over 12-24 weeks.

Vision Therapy FAQs
Where can Toronto residents get vision therapy?
Elevate Vision Care offers vision therapy at 7357 Woodbine Ave in Markham, about 20 minutes from downtown Toronto. Dr. Melissa Yeung is one of few FOVDR-certified optometrists in Ontario, with fellowship training in vision therapy and neuro-optometric rehabilitation.
How much does vision therapy cost for Toronto patients?
Vision therapy costs depend on the condition and program length (usually 12-24 weeks with weekly sessions). We direct bill most extended health insurance plans. Book an assessment to receive a personalized treatment plan and cost estimate.
Why do Toronto families travel to your clinic for vision therapy?
Toronto families choose us because FOVDR-certified vision therapy providers are rare in the GTA. Dr. Yeung's fellowship training means she can treat complex cases—concussion recovery, learning-related vision problems, and lazy eye—that other clinics may not address.
Can vision therapy help Toronto children with ADHD-like symptoms?
Vision problems often mimic ADHD symptoms: difficulty focusing, short attention span, and fidgeting during reading. Vision therapy addresses underlying visual issues like convergence insufficiency that cause these behaviors. We recommend assessment before or alongside ADHD evaluation.
Do you treat concussion patients from Toronto?
Yes. We see many Toronto patients with post-concussion visual syndrome from sports injuries, car accidents, and falls. Symptoms like light sensitivity, headaches, difficulty reading, and dizziness often respond well to neuro-optometric rehabilitation.
What vision problems do you treat for Toronto children?
We treat lazy eye (amblyopia), crossed eyes (strabismus), convergence insufficiency, eye tracking problems, focusing difficulties, and visual processing delays. Many Toronto children improve their reading and school performance through vision therapy.
How long does vision therapy take for Toronto patients?
Most programs run 12-24 weeks with weekly in-office sessions plus daily home exercises. Progress depends on the condition, patient age, and consistency with home exercises. Children often respond quickly, while adults may need longer programs.
Do you offer flexible scheduling for Toronto families?
Yes. We offer appointments throughout the week including some evening slots to accommodate Toronto families. Book online 24/7 or call (905) 940-8834 to find a convenient time.
