Eye Doctor FAQs
What is the difference between an eye doctor and an optometrist?

Does OHIP cover eye doctor visits in Markham?
Yes. OHIP covers annual eye exams for children 19 and under, adults 65 and older, and patients with certain medical conditions like diabetes or glaucoma. Adults 20-64 without these conditions require private payment or insurance.
How do I find a good eye doctor in Markham?
Look for an eye doctor with advanced training, modern diagnostic equipment, and positive patient reviews. At Elevate Vision Care, Dr. Melissa Yeung holds a fellowship in vision therapy (FOVDR), and we use advanced technology like OCT scans and retinal imaging.
